No To Black Eyed Pea

I could not figure out how to embed youtube video here anymore - so until I do, there won’t be anymore featured song on Saturdays.

But that does not mean that I have not been reading up on music industry news.

One which tickled me today was this : Black Eyed Pea’s concert ban for Malaysian Muslims. The reason is because the major sponsor is an alcoholic drink company.

Personally, even I will not be too thrilled to have my girls attend concerts by such performers. Sure, they have some really fine songs. Really entertaining to listen to.

But I don’t really fancy their image, dressing style and some of their video clips. How great if music clips never existed.

And we do not have to be of a certain religion to have a certain mindset when it comes to modesty and decency.

Your comment went into my moderation box for some reasons.

Anyway, I am assuming that you are perhaps a teen or the most, late 20s? So I understand your views. When I was your age, I felt similarly too. But as you grow older and are in different positions with bigger responsibilities, your perspective will change - as mine had. It’s alright, all of us learn as we get older. Next time, if you care to think back, you will realise that my issue is not about religion.

But if you are in your 30s (and older) and still think the same way, all I can say is … good luck! :-D
