Rainy Days

We eagerly left Brunei for Sabah on the first week of the school holiday earlier this month to escape the smoke from the bush fire that had been plagueing our neighbourhood for weeks. Luckily, weatherwise, Kota Kinabalu was fine and Jakarta was perfect.

But when we came back to Lumut, it was disheartening to see wisps of smoke still visible from the forest behind our place.

Fortunately, last week was considerably better and the wind was kind to us.

And last night, it finally rained so heavily and so long that whatever fire is left under the soil must have all been doused. Today was supposed to be the first day of school but with the current H1N1 fear, the school holiday has been extended by another week.

With the weather looking set to rain more and having at least another relatively relaxing week, I have no complaints.

Besides, Eu and Qi are becoming very good baby sitters and whenever I need an extra hand, all I need to do is holler for them to mind Baby Ade.
